Nearly 200 UC alumni attended this event. Following the reception, AAUC President Larry Seigler introduced Michael Dukakis, Governor of Massachusetts (1975-79; 1983-91) and the 1988 Democratic presidential nominee. Mr. Dukakis provided "A Look at the 2004 Presidential Race from a Guy Who Didn't Make It" and spoke about the recall election in California.

Barbara Bodine, originally scheduled to keynote, was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict.
