Fresno Mayor Alan Autry will be the featured speaker at a special reception sponsored by the San Joaquin Valley UC Alumni Network and the Alumni Associations of the University of California. "Partnering for Progress: An All-UC Mixer with the Mayor" is set for Thursday, September 20th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Campagnia Restaurant. Mayor Autry will share his vision for the City of Fresno and ways that UC alumni can partner in the progress.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised in the San Joaquin Valley farming community of Riverdale, Autry attended college on an athletic scholarship. He played professional football for the Green Bay Packers and later went on to a successful film and television career. As Mayor of Fresno, Autry is committed to improving education, creating jobs and revitalizing the downtown area among other issues.

This event will also feature an AAUC update by UC Alumni Affairs Director James Stofan.

UC alumni and friends of the university are cordially invited to attend. Tickets are $10 for current UC Alumni Association members and $12 for non-members and guests.
