Bruce Hallett

Bruce Hallett ’78, B.A. magna cum laude, UC Irvine; ’81, J.D., UCLA
Hallett is co-founder of Miramar Venture Partners, a venture capital firm working with California technology companies. Prior to founding Miramar, he served as lead counsel to high-growth technology companies, venture capitalists and investment banks. In 1999, Mr. Hallett was recognized as one of the region’s leading technology lawyers and was selected by the State Bar as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in California.
From 2007 to 2010, Hallett chaired UCI’s Chief Executive Roundtable, a group of business leaders committed to building strategic partnerships between the university and the community. He serves on the board of directors of OCTANe, an alliance of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and universities to drive innovation and accelerate the growth of the technology business in Southern California. He is also a member of UCI’s Dean’s Leadership Council for the School of Biological Sciences.
He serves as Regent and AAUC President for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2011.

Lori S. Richardson Pelliccioni

At UCLA, Pelliccioni studied health law, examining regulatory compliance, health care fraud and abuse. She is currently an assistant professor in the School of Public Health.
After receiving her juris doctorate in 1986, she worked as a litigation associate with Katten Muchin and Zavis. She moved on to the United States Attorney’s Office where she served as an assistant United States attorney prosecuting health care fraud cases. Since leaving government service, Pelliccioni has been a partner in PricewaterhouseCooper’s Health Care Practice, the chief compliance officer and acting general counsel for DaVita, Inc. and health care consultant and interim corporate counsel for Amgen, Inc. She currently serves as the acting general counsel and chief compliance officer for Simplex Healthcare, Inc.
Pelliccioni is chair of the UCLA Alumni Association Board of Directors, a member of the School of Public Health’s alumni board and a past president of the UCLA Health Policy and Management Alumni Association. She is also a member of the Delta Omega Society.
She serves as Regent and AAUC Vice President for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2011.

Ronald Rubenstein

Ronald Rubenstein ’66, B.A., UC Santa Barbara; ’69, J.D., UC Berkeley
Rubenstein began his legal career in 1970 in Contra Costa County where he has been continually engaged in the private practice of law for the past 41 years. His clients are primarily small, closely held businesses and he specializes in transactional work.
Rubenstein is presently in his seventh year of service upon the Board of Directors of the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association, having recently completed a two year term as President of the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association. He also serves as a Trustee of the UC Santa Barbara Foundation. and is currently the Secretary of the Alumni Associations of the University of California.
He serves as Alumni Regent-designate for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2011.

Alan C. Mendelson

Alan C. Mendelson, '69, B.A., UC Berkeley
Mendelson is a partner in the Silicon Valley office of Latham & Watkins LLP, a major global law firm, and is the Co-Chair of the firm's Emerging Companies Practice Group and Co-Chair of its Life Sciences Industry Group. He joined Latham in May 2000.
Mendelson received his B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1969 and his J.D. degree from Harvard University in 1973. His practice is primarily targeted toward the representation of emerging and public growth companies, with strong emphasis on companies in the life sciences industries. He served as Amgen’s Secretary and Acting General Counsel in 1990-1991 and as counsel to its board of directors from 1980 to 2006. Mr. Mendelson currently serves as principal outside counsel to numerous emerging and public growth companies.
From 2009 to 2011, he served as President of the Cal Alumni Association, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the UC Berkeley Foundation. He serves as Alumni Regent-designate and AAUC Treasurer for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2011.
